"Gateau de St Honore" block 1 of 2.
This block best depicts the theme of my Stonefields quilt.
I've chosen a 1930's Farmhouse theme. My goal for this quilt is to look like a true Scrap quilt that could have been made by a Homestead/Farm wife during the Great Depression.
I'm using reproduction fabrics in plaid, floral, geometric, feedsack, shirtings and children's novelty prints. These were fabrics popular/available in the United States from 1910 thru the 1930's.
This 2nd block is more reflective of fabrics from 1910 thru perhaps 1925. The fabrics of 1910 - 1920's were more pastel. Blue on White diaper prints and stripes were also very popular at this time. Colors became bolder and brighter again during the 1930's.
These are both the same size, I just blew one up bigger for you to see the Bunny background. There are 13 blocks assigned for Month #1. I've completed 8 so far and am hopeful to have the final 5 ready to post by next Monday.
The Stonefields quilt is very Cheerful.
I'm enjoying the Play dates I've set aside to work on these.
I hope you are finding Joy in your Stitch work as well!
